Mouse Skip Fix

Does your view jerk or skip when you turn quickly? That’s a 20-year-old bug in how BF2142 calculates mouse movement on modern hardware, not a problem with your mouse. This small patcher fixes it for good.

Before you start

  • You need the v1.51 patch.
  • Made for singleplayer, LAN and servers that don’t check your game files. Servers that do may not let you join with it.
  • Your game folder is where BF2142.exe lives, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142.

Steps

  1. Download the patcher from Downloads.

  2. Put it in your game folder and run it.

  3. Click Patch. It backs up your original BF2142.exe first, so you can always go back.

  4. Start the game and turn around quickly. The view should now move smoothly.

Good to know

  • Installing the OpenSpy patches in BF2142 Hub replaces BF2142.exe, so run the fix again afterwards.
  • To uninstall, restore the backup the patcher made.
