Unlimited Sprint

Coming from modern Battlefield, BF2142’s short sprint can feel frustrating. A small file edit gives you (nearly) unlimited sprint.

Before you start

Your game folder is where BF2142.exe lives, usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Electronic Arts\Battlefield 2142.
You’ll edit Objects\Soldiers_server.zip inside mods\bf2142 for vanilla, or inside your mod’s folder.
Back it up first by copying it as Soldiers_server_o.zip, so you can always restore it.

Open Soldiers_server.zip and find the .tweak file for the soldier you want to change. EU soldiers are in the us folder. For example, the EU heavy armor soldier is us\US_HEAVY_SOLDIER.tweak.
Open it with a text editor and change these lines:

ObjectTemplate.SprintDissipationTime 100
ObjectTemplate.SprintLimit 0.1
ObjectTemplate.SprintLossAtJump 0.10
```
- SprintDissipationTime: how long you can sprint. Higher is longer.
- SprintRecoverTime: how long sprint takes to refill. Lower is faster.
- SprintLimit: how full the bar must be before you can sprint again.
- SprintLossAtJump: how much sprint a jump costs.
The first two usually do the trick.
Repeat for any other soldiers you want to change, then save.

Can’t save? Copy the .zip to your desktop, edit it there, then copy it back.
Playing Northern Strike maps? Make the same changes in Soldiers_bp1_server.zip.

Undo the changes before joining Reclamation or other online servers, unless the server uses this tweak too.
Hosting with this tweak? Players who join need it too.
To uninstall, restore your backup.
